About me
I am pursuing my PhD in the Horticultural Sciences Department, University of Florida in Dr. Kevin Folta's lab. My PhD project is related to exploring molecular basis of low chill apple cultivars with a focus on how genetic and regulatory mechanisms of low chill apple cultivars influence bud dormancy and flowering under reduced chilling conditions.
As global temperatures rise and chill hours decline, traditional apple cultivars face major fruiting challenges. My work aims to decode the genetic and molecular mechanisms that allow certain cultivars to thrive in warmer climates — contributing to the future of climate-resilient horticulture.
