In his role as Fluence’s Principal Scientist, Dr. David Hawley steers the company’s global Cannabis Crop Sciences program, encompassing photobiological research, data analytics, and cultivation consultation. Fluence’s research has identified specific and diverse lighting strategies that consider crop yield, morphology, quality, and economics that maximize commercial growers’ objectives, whatever their crops and production objectives may be. David is a passionate advocate for scientific integrity in the horticultural industry and brings this passion to the design and execution of Fluence’s studies, several of which are published in peer-reviewed journals. These studies form the foundation of Fluence’s products and drive Fluence’s mission to service the global horticulture industry with objective, evidence-based lighting solutions and education on what to avoid.
